ABOUT US

Our meat is naturally wholesome – packed with healthy proteins rather than supplements, hormones and antibiotics. And it is true to its origin in the Kalahari, where free-roaming animals have access to an assortment of nutrients, rotationally grazing on diverse pastures while living to an older age. The result: a more flavoursome meat, filled with nature’s energy.

BENEFITS OF DRY-AGEING

Wild Kalahari is one of only a handful of artisan butcheries in South Africa who are dry-ageing free-range, grass-fed meat.

 

The taste of ethically produced meat is much more flavoursome than meat from mass-production feedlots, because free-roaming animals feed on a variety of natural occurring pastures.

Dry-ageing enhances this flavour even more, making the meat supremely tender and delicious, giving it a distinct nutty, smokey flavour.

Jacques van der Merwe is a hands-on farmer who understands the importance of developing planet-friendly practices. He has dedicated his work to producing healthier, more nourishing meat for conscious consumption. Jacques is a holistic farmer, rearing animals and caring for the land with a deep respect for the environment, ensuring the sustainability of food production and the regeneration of agricultural resources.
